Later in his life AGG had renewed problems with his eyesight . He had to stop sculpting, but found a new direction in painting. The paintings were mainly landscapes. Even with poor eyesight his power of observation is remarkable, and his style is full of space and depth.

The two thumbnail pictures at the bottom are much earlier paintings relating to his abstract sculpting. The painting on the bottom left is a direct observation from his sculpture of this period. The painting on the right shows the strong influence of Henry Moore, and is a wonderful example of his spacial thinking.
